The chateau offers guided tours and tastings as well as food pairings, picnics, lunch and dinners for groups.

The chateau was built in the mid 18th century by Jean-Baptiste de Richon, a lawyer at the Parliament of Paris. Shortly after its construction, Maria Josepha of Saxony, the Dauphine of France stayed at the chateau for several days which contributed to the name of the property.

In 1985, the chateau was sold to the Moueix family of Libourne who also own Petrus, Chateau Trotanoy and Magdeleine.

Since 2010 the property started conversion to organic agriculture and received AB certification in 2015. Chateau de La Dauphine has also been adopting biodynamic methods.
In 2015, the estate was purchased by the Labrune family. Today, with 53 hectares of vineyards, it is one of the largest properties in the Libourne region.
