1855 Grand Cru Classé – 2nd Growth, Margaux

Château Lascombes is named after Antoine, the Knight of Lascombes, who is believed to have been born in 1625 and inherited the estate from the Durfort family. Over the years, the château has changed hands numerous times, with notable owners including the Ginestet family, who also owned Château Margaux, and Alexis Lichine, known for his ownership of Château Prieuré-Lichine.

Today, Château Lascombes is the largest estate in the Margaux appellation, boasting an expansive vineyard of 120 hectares. The estate features a picturesque château, with its ground floor—a classic Bordeaux “chartreuse”—dating back to the 17th century. Successive owners have contributed to its grandeur, particularly during the 19th century, resulting in a beautiful blend of architectural styles that reflects its rich history.
