About

Founded in 1859 by Giovanni Gaja, the winery has elevated Barbaresco which has been overshadowed by Barolo.

Today the winery with the reputation of Italy’s finest wine producer is managed by Angelo Gaja and his three children, Gaia, Rossana and Giovanni. Gaia Barolo and Barbaresco wines are known for their rare purity, concentration, elegance and personality.

Gaja produces Barbaresco DOCG wines (sourced from 14 different vineyards), top-rated single-vineyard Barbaresco wines and cru Barolos as well as impressive whites: including the Sauvignon Blanc ‘Alteni di Brassica’ and ‘Rossj Bass’ Chardonnay.
