Veuve Clicquot
Tours are by appointment.
Veuve Clicquot traces its history back to Madame Clicquot. In 1798, Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, the daughter of Baron Nicolas Ponsardin married François Clicquot whose father founded the Champagne House in 1772. When her husband passed away at a young age, Veuve (widow) Clicquot was only 27. She took over the Champagne House.
Passionate about wine, the widow Clicquot invented the riddling table which made the first rosé champagne possible.
The orange-yellow label first applied in 1877 and helped Veuve Clicquot to become one of the most recognized brands in the world.
Located in Reims, Veuve Clicquot Champagne House now owned by the LVMH luxury group. The signature of Veuve Clicquot Champagne is the influence of Pinot Noir.
