Quinta dos Murças is located on the right bank of the Douro River, between Régua and Pinhão near the Covelinhas train station.
The first written reference to Quinta dos Murças dates back to 1770. The first vertical vineyard in the Douro Valley was planted here in 1947 when Manuel Pinto de Azevedo took over the Quinta. Quinta dos Murças remained in the same family until 2008, when the Esporão group bought the property from Manuel Pinto de Azevedo’s great-grandchildren.
The estate covers 155 hectares along the Douro River banks. The terroir at Quinta dos Murças benefits from the mountains, altitude, and schist soils. Besides vineyards quinta has olive, orange, tangerine, lemon and almond groves, as well as the Mediterranean forest.

By appointment every day from 10 am to 6 pm.
The Quinta is right by the Covelinhas train station.

The exclusive tastings of DOC Douro wines and ports, walks, picnics are offered at the Quinta.
One of the highlights is a hike through water springs (Minas), the riverbank (Margem) or the Assobio (Whistle) vineyard.
