Quinta do Tedo is located at the confluence of the Douro and Tedo rivers, 5 minutes drive east of Folgosa.
The estate has a Single Quinta classification, the Portuguese equivalent of a Single Estate comparable to the French Grand Cru.
In 2011, Quinta do Tedo became certified organic.
The owners, the Bouchard family originating from Burgundy, France, split their time between their Napa Valley home and the Quinta.
