Every wine lover knows this iconic wine estate and its legendary Bolgheri Super Tuscan wines.
Typically Ornellaia is blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc & Petit Verdot, the Bordeaux grape varieties.
The winery is owned by the Frescobaldi family, who also invest in several other wineries in the area including the famous nearby Masseto.
A drive from Florence will take you almost two hours, however a visit to Ornellaia is worth a long drive through beautiful Tuscany.
On a tour of Ornellaia, you will see the historic vineyards, visit the cellar decorated by works of contemporary art and taste 4 wines, as well as some local olive oil and grappa.
