Il Castellaccio

Podere Il Castellaccio is in a corner of Tuscany on the Etruscan Coast. Standing on a hilltop along the giant pines and overlooking the surrounding countryside and the sea, this vineyard has been making unique wines for forty years.
At Il Castellaccio, old autochthonous varieties as well as varieties of Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo Foglia Tonda and Pugnitello, which had almost disappeared, are being rediscovered by Alessandro Scappini.
Come here for a wine tour, excellent rare wines and olive oil, and perhaps a stay on a Tuscan hill with a seaview.
