Eguren Ugarte is a family-run winery near Laguardia.

The winery was built in 1989 by Vitorino Eguren at the foothills of the Cantabrian mountains. Today, the estate has 130 hectares of vineyards. In recent years, the winery has been adding new grape varieties to the vineyard in order to produce monovarietal white and red wines.

Visits

Guided tours by appointment.

The 4,000 barrels are stored in 2,000 meters of underground galleries which you will visit during a classic wine tour. I find this experience quite fascinating.

The other two exciting options are tours of the vineyards on a segway or on a horse.

If you are in La Rioja around the harvest time, you can take part in grape picking with the family.
