About
The historic wine village Quintana del Pidio in the heart of Ribera del Duero has been supplying wine to knights, abbeys and Castilian warriors for centuries.
The story of Quintana del Pidio in the 11th century with the birth of the Monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos. The monks made wine here from the 12th century. The winemaking further developed in the 16th century when the underground lagares (wine presses) were constructed underneath the village. At the time, there were as many as 60,000 vines.
In the 21st century, the Aragon brothers restored the oldest winemaking underground complex in Spain and have been producing some of the highest-rated wines of region.
Visits
During your visit you will see the underground winery built in the 16th century, walk the the vineyards and taste two wines.
