Sieur Peyraguey was the first known owner of the estate in 1618.
In 1796, Pierre Lafaurie turned the property into a “cru” and when his eldest son was in charge of the chateau, it was included into the 1855 classification as Premier Grand Cru Classe of Sauternes.
The Suez group undertook a renovation programme of the property between 1998 and 2005.
Silvio Denz, the current owner of Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, purchased the property in 2014.
Today this 36 hectare vineyard produces high-quality sweet Sauternes wines, offers accommodation in one of the 14-rooms and fine dining at restaurant Lalique. A beautiful property to visit and to stay at.
