Bodegas Bilbainas
About
Bodegas Bilbainas is a century-old winery in Haro Train Station District with historic buildings and the greatest area of underground cellars in La Rioja, covering 3,400 square metres.
The history of the bodega goes back to 1859, when Savignon Frères & Cie fled phylloxera in France and set up in Haro. In 1901, a group of Bilbao businessmen purchased the winery and created the Bodegas Bilbaínas company.
Viña Pomal is the most important brand of Bodegas Bilbainas. The label of Viña Pomal was first used in 1904. The brand traditionally uses Burgundy-shape bottles.
