About

Castello di Brolio is a rural castle located in San Regolo, 14 km from Gaiole in Chianti, about 20 km from Siena, and about 80 km from Florence.

The place has belonged to the Ricasoli family for nearly 800 years. The castle was destroyed more than once during the wars between Siena and Florence.

The Ricasoli were among the first Italian winemakers. Today, the estate is owned by Francesco Ricasoli. The Ricasoli company lands are the most extensive in the Chianti Classico area – the 1,200 hectares of property include 240 hectares of vineyards and 26 hectares of olive groves.

Classic wine tour is at 10-30 am every day.

For other visits, contact the winery. Lunch is included with some wine tour packages.

During your wine tour you can see the Brolio Castle, the modern wine-making facilities and cellars, and taste the Ricasoli wines.

The company also offers stays at Villa Agresto, a restored Tuscan farmhouse on a hill southwest of the Brolio Castle, surrounded by Brolio vineyards.

If you are looking for a place to have lunch or dinner in the area, do not look too far. Enjoy a meal at Osteria di Brolio which offers both traditional Tuscan dishes and contemporary cuisine.
