Pessac-Léognan is a wine region to the south of the city of Bordeaux known for production of excellent red and white wines and some of the oldest wineries in France: Château Haut-Brion, Château Pape Clément and Château Smith Haut Lafitte.
However, there are many more interesting wineries that you can visit.
The Pessac-Léognan wineries are relatively easy to access from Bordeaux, some can even be visited by public transit.
