From Vine to Wine

Follow the Merlot and Cabernets route from vine to glass.

The work of the vines over the seasons as well as the vinification and ageing process of Château Villemaurine wines are revealed to you through the discovery of the vineyard, the technical installations and the monolithic cellar of the property.

A tasting of the 2 wines produced at the winery concludes this tour (Grand Cru and Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion).

High Season (Mid-April to end of October): upon reservation from Monday to Sunday

Low Season: upon reservation.

Chateau Villemaurine, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classe is one of the closest to the town of Saint-Emilion.

The name first appeared in the 7th century when the Moors set up a camp at a site initially called Ville Maure, which eventually became known as Villemaurin.

Today, the chateau is owned by the Onclin family.

Very friendly and helpful lady who guided us on the wine tour. She answered all the guests' concerns politely and tried her best to be really helpful and make the tour memorable and pleasant. The management should give her a raise for all her excellent efforts that reflect about the image of this chateau! She was so mindful of each and everyone of us as her guests and made sure we were all entertained and educated during the tour. The tour will just be better if they have a better area and bigger space for the wine tasting. This chateau is easy to reach by foot from main town

We visited for a private tour and tasting. Karine was a wonderful and gracious guide, very knowledgeable about all aspects of wine making, a true expert. She gave the tour and all explanations to our many questions in English without problem, and we are very thankful for that! The château is a beautiful place in a great location, the limestone quarry cellars are amazing. The wine is of course great. Overall great experience - thanks Karine!

Great tour and tasting! It was very neat to see how they use the old underground limestone quarry. If you are visiting Saint Emilion you should consider this experience. It is located at the top of the town so it is very easy to get to on foot. You can book the tour online and check-in at the little building.

Historic winery located a short distance from the beautiful village of Saint Emilion. Available guided tour of the winery with final tasting of the wines they produce. Don't miss a visit to the underground cellar. At the end of the tour you can buy wines from the cellar and other souvenirs in the shop located at the exit. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice welcome.
