The Medoc region is known for its remarkably fine and complex wines dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as for its magnificent castles. On this tour, you will discover prestigious appellations of the Medoc – Margaux, Saint-Julien, Pauillac, Haut-Medoc, or Saint-Estephe and visit some of the top wineries classified in 1855.
This is your tour. We will create an itinerary just for your group. Simply let us know the style of wines you like, or maybe your favorite chateaux, the type of activities you enjoy, and your dining preferences. We will do our best to check all boxes. Alternatively, just relax and let our experts suggest the best plan.
We suggest visiting 3 Medoc chateaux during the full-day tour and 1-2 wineries during a half-day tour.
Our guide will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel or apartment in Bordeaux. We can also pick you up at the port of Bordeaux. Pick up from another location in the Gironde is possible too.
Great guide does wonders to a great wine memorable tour
Going on a private tour of vineyards in Bordeaux seemed overwhelming. So signing up for this tour seemed a best was to do selected tours with an expert guide of the area. With Polina who was assigned to us for the day, she did excellent work in preparing for the tour by understanding our desires of a large wine area and putting a tight but exciting schedule for the day. She picked us up from the hotel and shared with us the details of the wine making knowledge and supplemented all day with visits in a constrained time schedule. We did visit the Margaux, Saint Julien and Pauillac appelations both for tasting as well as how the wine making has evolved with technology. Polina's knowledge of the industry, personalized approach and managing the events during the day really made it an outstanding day and memorable one. Would recommend her anytime to escort wine tours if you want to extract the most value of your time with a truly professional guide.
Wonderful tour of Bordeaux!
We highly recommend this tour. Polina chose the 3 wineries and our lunch spot. All perfect locations with exceptional wine. She was very knowledgable about all-things wine 🙂 We'd do it again in a heartbeat.
We opted for the private day tour to Saint Emilion. Polina was extremely friendly and knowledagble, answering all of our questions and providing us with lots of interesting facts about the region and the wine. She tailored the trip to our interests and made sure we were enjoying ourselves throughout (she even provided snacks and water!). We had a really fantastic day and would definitely recommend it over and above other, more expensive tours.
Super hyggelig og informativ
Vi havde en super hyggelig og informativ tur. Polina var meget venlig og havde stor viden om vine og Bordeaux området. Vi kan varmt anbefale denne tur.
Quite the introduction to Bordeaux and Wine making/tasting.
We visited Bordeaux as part of my husbands 50th birthday celebrations.
Being quite the wine buff, the birthday trip was all about wine and Bordeaux was our first stop.
This particlar tour was just four of our group of 7 so we chose to go with Polina from Red Square Travel and we were not disappointed.
My husband asked a million questions and I swear Polina was able to answer every single one of them. She is clearly as passionate about wine as my husband and had the patience of a saint as he would sometimes slow our tour down by stopping longer than expected at certain points (or asking non stop questions), but we managed to keep on track and made it to all of our scheduled appointments (including the most amazing lunch at Le Saint-Julien).
At the end of the tour Polina was generous with her time and drove us to some of the more renowned and architectually magnificent wineries for some photo opportunities which we all appreciated.
If you are looking for a quality one on one guided tour of Bordeaux, then do reach out to Polina.
Magic day in St Emilion
We absolutely loved our experience with Polina in St Emilion. She was very knowledgeable, extremely tactful and punctual.
We visited two wineries and had a lovely afternoon stroll in town while Polina walked us through local sights.
Polina is very passionate about wine making business, has a connection with local people and understands all intricacies of the culture.
The day we spent in St Emilion made one of brightest memories of our 10 days trip in France. We told all our friends to contact Polina if they happen to be in the Bordeaux area.
Medoc and Saint-Emilion
We booked a two-day trip - Medoc and Saint-Emilion. My husband is quite into wines, so he wanted to go to these specific regions. We enjoyed visits to all wineries, leisurely lunches in wine country and a walk in Saint-Emilion. The scenery is just amazing! Our guide was very knowledgeable about the region and the wines. We asked tons of questions and had some great conversations. We felt like the tour was made with our best interest in mind, it was not rushed. Thank you for your professionalism and kindness.
Excellent personal approach and involving experience
Pauline is an excellent professional, she is good at wines and knows the region. Getting to the Chateau on your own is quite problematiс. If you want to visit several, then you will definitely have to spend several hours on the phone. If you do not speak French – this is quite challenging. I have never regretted having a weekend with Pauline.
Fun-Filled and Fascinating Tour of a Sweet Wine Château
One of my bucket list places to visit has always been Château d’Yquem, a premier sweet wine producer in Sauternes. Polina made this wish come true with the most fabulous visit to the Château. I had previously taken a private tour with Polina’s company, but this time I was on one of her half-day group tours. It was just as professional and exciting as her private tour! Polina met us at near a downtown tram station, and then drove us to Château. On the way, she pointed out important vineyards and was a wealth of entertaining information about them. Her friendly and upbeat demeanour made it easy to chat with her. When we arrived at Château d’Yquem, one of the staff guided us through the gardens and winery. Polina arranged that we could see all the different aspects of winemaking. We even got to down to the underground barrel room to get a glimpse of the cellar workers transferring the wine from one barrel to another. The staircase going done to the room was definitely one of the most magnificent I’ve ever seen. To end our tour, we got the chance to taste the 2016 Château d’Yquem vintage paired with Roquefort cheese. What a treat!!! As we were the leaving, the sun was setting, so I got some spectacular photos of the sun moving across the castle gardens. It was the perfect ending to such a fun-filled and educational afternoon. Polina ran everything on time, but I had plenty of time for photo-taking and exploring on my own. I had another amazing day in the Bordeaux vineyards with Polina’s company!
Felt as a privileged guest
I was spending my winter holidays at my friend's who live in Bordeaux, and even though doing wine tourisme activities during low season at first seemed as not such an exciting idea, I didn't want lo leave Bordeaux without seeing what this wine buzz is all about;)I was not dissapointed. It turned out I got a lot of individual attention from the wineries owners that I assume I could not count on in busy summertime. As my guide had a well established connections with the top wineries (chateaux crus classés) I was treated as a privileged guest. Everything went smooth during my half day visit, thank you so much for your good energy and professional service.
