If you plan on visiting wineries in Bordeaux you may want to include a special lunch into your day.
I am a wine guide in Bordeaux and I would like to share my favorite places with you.
Pick your wine destination first: Medoc, Saint-Emilion, Pessac-Leognan or Sauternes and browse. Whether you are looking for a authentic French cuisine, a Michelin-star gastronomic wonder or a romantic lunch at a winery – Bordeaux has it all.
Lunch starts at noon. In France, restaurants are rarely open all day long. Make sure to arrive to a restaurant not later than 1:30 pm or 2 pm. Take time to have a long French-style lunch with a view of vineyards. Anyways, most wineries close for lunch too…
Portions are quite small, so start with some wine and an appetizer (entree), enjoy a main dish (plat) and don’t feel guilty and have a dessert. If you are going for a full 9-course tasting menu, give yourself at least 2.5 hours.
Happy touring and tasting!
